Monitoring project progress by comparing project metrics
Following our latest release of the project summary report we have now introduced in the summary report the ability to compare project metrics between 2 different dates.
You can now for instance compare the metrics in your project summary report with those of each Saturday of former weeks or with the beginning of former months.
Monitoring project progress works by recording project metrics every Saturday and on every first day of the month as from the 29th December of 2012. You can therefore compare project metrics as from the 1st of January of 2013.
Controlling access to the project metrics comparison selector
Click on the Manage button in the Overview application. If this button is not available, please ask an account user who has either the Administrator or Manager role to allow you to use the project metrics comparison selector. (please refer to our previous post on project summary reports)
To access the settings, click on the Manage button in the project summary figures section.
You can then choose the default view:
- no project metrics comparison,
- metrics comparison - current metrics compared with : This week, Last week, This month, Last Month.
For instance :
- If you choose ‘This week’ the current project metrics are compared with those of the previous Saturday,
- If you choose ‘This month’, current project metrics are compared with those of the 1st day of the month.
You can choose, based on their roles, which type of project members can use the project metrics comparison feature. You can therefore decide whether every project member should be able to use the metrics comparison feature.
In the project metrics comparison selector, ‘the Compare with’ selector then allows you to choose a specific date with which to compare your current project metrics.
Please reach out to the support team if you have questions on how to use the project summary report and the project metrics comparison selector.
