How to set up the Discussions application
This FAQ describes the settings and privileges of the Discussions application for GroupCamp projects.
In the project, click the Actions menu and select Edit project settings.
This feature allows project members to send messages in the Project feed using their email software.
Check out this FAQ if you need to be guided: How to use my email with GroupCamp.
The feature can be enabled or disabled per project.
When the app is disabled in the project settings:
- The application is no longer visible to project members.
- Posting messages in the Project feed is not possible.
- Emails sent to the Project feed email address are bounced.
A privilege is the right to access a feature. A user who has the privilege has access to the feature.
You can grant or remove privileges by using Profiles of privileges and / or by customizing user privileges. Check out this FAQ to learn more: How to grant privileges. How to use Profiles of privileges.
Go to the Admin panel and then click the Privileges tab. In the List of privileges menu, expand Applications > Discussions.
Privileges associated with topics are distinct from those associated with posts. Depending on your usage, you can limit the creation privilege to avoid the proliferation of topics.
