How do I sync milestones with my Calendar? Why do I see only my milestones?
This GroupCamp FAQ explains how to synchronize milestones of a project with calendars.
From a project management standpoint, the owner of a milestone is the person in charge of ensuring that the deadline is met. The same person is therefore in charge of making sure that the linked tasks are completed on time. Please note that an Owner on a milestone is not mandatory.
When the owner of the milestone is set:
- The owner's name is displayed next to the milestone so that project members know who is in charge.
- In the Overview application of the cross-project dashboard, late milestones are displayed for the owner of the milestones
- In the Milestones application of the cross-project dashboard you can filter milestones across all projects based on the owner of the milestones (see below).
- If a user has synced his or her milestones with a personal Google or Outlook calendar, only upcoming or late milestones are displayed in the synced calendar
How to sync milestones with your calendar
In the Milestones application, click on the iCalendar link as shown below. If the iCalendar button is not displayed you must first enable the iCalendar format in the application settings of the Milestones application.
In the screen shown below, copy the relevant iCalendar link:
Please note that this method adds all milestones in a project to your calendar.
