How can I restrict time categories for time spent in a project

When you have defined a large number of time categories to be used to record time spent in a project, it may prove difficult for project members to select the right category. By restricting categories relevant to a given project, managers can make sure that the categories are easier to find and select, thereby avoiding having to update records that were not properly entered.
Verify that the feature is enabled in the Configuration tab of your project settings.
Click on the Manage link.
Note: the Manage categories option to add additional time categories is protected by a privilege. For more information please read Where do I manage Time categories for Timesheet
The following screen shows how existing time categories are displayed.
Select the time categories you want to use in the project, then click on Ok and close the window.
When recording a time spent in this project, members will only have access to authorized categories.
Note: When using the Budget per category feature in a project, time categories that are selected in the budget per category section are automatically authorized for time recording. For more information, please read How to use the budget of a project.
