Video tutorial: Linking your projects to Google Docs
In our new GroupCamp Web Apps channel on Youtube dedicated to video screencasts, we have a new tutorial which showing how to link your projects to your Google Docs files.
This video shows how use an online project management with files which are present in Google Docs. Start by creating your presentations, documents, spreadsheets or forms in Google Docs. Then in you web-based project in GroupCamp you can link to your files by browsing the content of your Google Docs account from the Files app in GroupCamp. You therefore do not have to import existing files in your GroupCamp project. Once your Google Docs file is shared within your projects you can assign tasks related to the file and all your team members including users from partner or client organizations. Users with assigned tasks will receive their email notifications (they will also be updated via Google Calendar). You can then use the commenting system in GroupCamp Project to discuss the content of files which are present in Google Docs and all followers in the project will receive email notifications.
We are also working on improving the update mechanism when files in Google Docs are updated to take into account. We hope you enjoy using GroupCamp project with Google Apps and look forward to your feedback.
