Online file sharing within your collaborative project
The Files Application allows you share project files in your secured online project workspace. All files are uploaded or downloaded in HTTPS and therefore fully encrypted under the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. You therefore avoid exchanging critical information by email which are usually transferred over the Internet without any encryption mecanism.
To upload a new file click on the Upload a new file button:
Choose Multiple uploads to add multiple files in one go or to drag and drop files into GroupCamp.
Online file sharing: Add comments on files. Add Followers. Send email notifications to project members
Once you are added as a follower on a file, you will receive updates about new versions together with comment added on a file by other project members. You can reply to those comments directly from your email software and your thread of comments is updated automatically (you do not have to sign in to add or reply to a comment).
Online file sharing: version management and control
GroupCamp Project's online file sharing, makes it easy to manage versions. You can add new versions on a shared file and update other project members. The latest version of a file is displayed on top. Any tasks or wiki page linked to a file is always associated with the latest version of that file. Users have the flexibility of adding different extensions as a new version of an initial file. For example if you are a Google Docs users and have shared an initial document, you can choose, once a file has reached its final version, to import the latest version as a PDF file.
Online file sharing: Version management. Linking files to tasks. Link sharing.
Shared files can be added as attached files to tasks, discussions or wiki pages. This allows project members to easily launch discussions or documentation on a given version of a file or track tasks on a given file.
Online file sharing: using private files to control access when collaborating with clients
With the GroupCamp Project's online file sharing, you can set up collaborative projects and invite team members, clients and partners When a first draft of a file is shared, you can decide not to share that version with all project members. You can do that by sharing the file as private so that only authorized project members (depending on their company) may access that version of the file. In the project settings, administrators can decide which companies are allowed to view private files.
Start by enabling private objects by clicking on the Settings icon in the top right corner of your project:
Once the private option has been enabled, you can choose to upload every new file as being private so that they can be seen only by users of authorized companies:
Online file sharing: using the Files dropbox email address to send files to your projects
You can add or archive files in a project simply by sending them to the dropbox email address for that project. Dropbox email addresses can be customized for each project. If the dropbox email address is added in To:, Cc: or Bcc field of an email, the email will be automatically added to the project. If the email has attached files, then the attached files will be added and the body of the email will be added ad a comment on the attached files. You can also forward emails already sent to the dropbox address of a project for archiving purposes.
To upload new files access the files dropbox settings:
You will then find the email dropbox address for the project which you can customize so that it is easier to remember and saved in your inbox:
