Google Calendar and Google Contacts sync now works with Gmail (Google Accounts)
One week after announcing our full integration with Google Apps, we are pleased to announce that GroupCamp Project users can also sync their GroupCamp account with their regular Gmail or Google Account. (Google Account: firstname.lastname@example.org). Synchronization will allow users to update their Google Calendar with their assigned tasks and milestones. The new release also allows Gmail users to browse their Gmail or Google contacts in the Guests application in the Admin section.
How to set up the Google Account sync.
As always to sync your personal account go to your personal settings page under the My Details as shown above. Under the Google tab click on ‘Add/Revoke an authorisation’ then grant access to GroupCamp for your Gmail/Google account.
By clicking on ‘Grant Access’ you will allow GroupCamp to update your Calendar and access your contacts. Please note that you can revoke this authorisation at any time. You can also choose to add up to 5 additional Gmail accounts.
Adding your contacts as guests to collaborate into projects
Once you account is synced, as an administrator of your GroupCamp account you can invite users present within your Google Contacts to join by browsing the list of contacts in your Gmail account.
Select the Gmail account you want to browse then enter the first or last name in the search pop-up to get a list of suggestions. Once you have created your selection, you can invite your guests to join the relevant projects.
You now don't need a Google Apps for Business to sync your account. Please send us your feedback.
