How do I create a new project. How do I edit or delete an existing project?
For any actions related to Project, you need to be an Administrator for the account and therefore have access to the Admin section
where you will find the Project tab in which you can create and edit projects.
Where do I choose which users to add to a project?
This is done in the Members app of the project.
The Users app in the Admin section also allows you to select the projects which a user can access.
How do I create a manager for a project? Where is the role of the Manager described?
In GroupCamp Project all Adminstrators are automatically Managers of the projects in which they are participating.
Only in the BEST and MAX plans are Administrators able to create Managers for a given project. Managers can be defined in the Project App of the Admin section (click on the cogged wheel icon when you are in a project to access project settings)
In a project what happens if I start using an application and then decide to deactivate that application?
You can no longer access this application but all the content of the application is saved in the application. All incoming links into the application (in emails, in the Overview app, in attached files, etc…) will remain active but you will be directed to a page explaining that the application is no longer activated. You will need to activate the application within the project for the links to work.
Why should I archive my projects? Is my project data backed up? For how long? Do archived projects count in the quota for a plan?
When a project is no longer being used by its members because it is considered as being over archiving it will allow you to keep its contents but the project will no longer be displayed in the list of projects. Once a project is archived, project memlbers will no longer have access to it and emails to the project will be bounced with an automatic error message.
Please note that an archived project is no longer counted in the project quota for a plan but the data contained in the project will still be counted in the storage quota for the plan.
GroupCamp stores archived projects as long as your account is up and running.
How do I export the data (files, tasks,...) in a project? What are the supported formats?
To export the data in a project, you need to be an administrator. Use the Project App in the Admin section. Choose the project you want to export and click on the export link. We will generate a file to download with all the data in your project organized per application.
If you have already requested an export for a project, you need to delete the on-going export before requesting a new one (or use the existing link to download your export).
The number of on-going exports is limited but you can delete an export before requesting a new one. Please note that during the Account Cancellation this limitation does not exist and you can export all your project data.
Please refer to the supported formats for exports.
